Why should I use professional product photographer's service? Wouldn't be worth for myself to invest  in professional DSLR camera and good lens and take photos myself?

These are the questions that many clients are asking. My answer is: The photographer takes a picture, not a camera.

Keep in mind: Professional Product Photographer is a profession and this occupation is a full time job. Of course you can learn it just like anybody else, but would you do the same with all other professions? You want to fix the car - learn how to become car mechanic, fix your television - learn how to do it,  etc. In each case, you need the tools, knowledge and experience.

With all sophisticated equipment available on the market, measuring exposure will be done by the camera, but in PRO product photography you never set up camera in automatic mode. Professional cameras have been designed to be used in manual mode. It does have automatic mode too, but you'll be surprised what would the difference be between the photograph from point and shoot and pro camera. In many cases point and shoot photographs may look much better than pro.

Here is very common question the people ask me: What kind of camera should I buy to do good pictures? Again the best answer I come up with is comparison to the car purchase:

What kind of car should I buy to drive safely? Of course to some point sophisticated safety features of the car matter, but  main factor is still the driver. Same thing with paint brushes. Does purchasing brand name Rembrandt paint brushes make you a great painter?

In my next article I will explain you what are the most important factors in product photography that contribute to the perfect photograph.

Amazon photos: Organic Ranking and Conversion Rate

Are you sure you want to cut the corners on your visual presentation cost? Well...keep in mind - first impression counts.

While top quality images are fundamental to boosting sales on the platform, low quality images are likely to turn potential customers off your product.

Your product's image is the first point of contact between the product and customer. From the very first moment your image appears in the client's search results. Good product images can convince shoppers to buy your product, therefore boosting your Conversion Rate (CR).

According to Amazon Seller University, 83% of shoppers on the platform decide what to buy based on a products' images.

Sales rank on Amazon is the most important factor that plays a key role in boosting organic ranking.

And your rank position on Amazon (your organic ranking) depends on the quality of your product images. Essentially, Amazon’s algorithm is set up so that the more a product gets clicked on, the better it’ll be ranked.

Conclusion:

Top quality product images will improve your product's performance on Amazon. How, you ask? Essentially, good product images prompt users to click on your product.

As the product’s Click Through Rate (CTR) and Conversion Rate (CR) improves, this leads to increased sales and better overall product ranking.

Here is the image showing what kinds of images will  boost your conversion rates.

As you can see Image #1 almost meets Amazon's requirements. But the object doesn't look appealing, so it is not going to work for you in terms of your product ranking on Amazon.

Number 2 should appear on the homepage of your listing. Next you should show the object on an appealing background as well as a few close ups.
